ABOUT
Amelia Quek (b. 1999, Singapore) is currently pursuing a BA in Fine Art at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), validated by the University of Arts London (UAL). Her recent group exhibitions include Art for the Senses (2025) and Between Matter and Memory (2025) at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, Proximities (2025) at the Singapore Photographic Society, and Beyond Flesh (2024) at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts.

Her practice, often tending towards elements of the abject and grotesque, explores the visceral qualities of self and being. Through mediums of drawing, painting, and mixed-media sculpture, her work toes the line between the sacred and comic, familiar and monstrous, and attempts to capture the animal odours, the exhalations, the raucous laughter, and subtle gut churnings of the human being.
